Leaf was founded by two friends driven by a shared desire to innovate and solve real problems.
Both Adam and I (yes, two Adams) faced challenges in finding consistently great shaves throughout our lives. Like many before us, we were drawn to classic safety razors.
But we saw an opportunity to modernize these plastic-free tools to better meet the diverse needs of today’s shavers.We set out to make a better razor.
Today, we exist to help as many people as possible make the swap from disposable plastic to a more sustainable shave care routine.I hope that you’ll join us!

SHAVING WITH PLASTIC IS WASTEFUL & EXPENSIVE
It doesn't have to be this way.
EVERY YEAR, 3+ BILLION PLASTIC RAZORS ARE USED AND THROWN IN THE TRASH.
Do some quick math: How many years have you been shaving? How many razors do you use each year? And how many years do you expect to continue shaving? Now multiple that number by the 200 million shaving people in the US alone.
PLASTIC-FREE RAZORS HAVE EXISTED FOR A CENTURY, WITHOUT MASS MODERN ADOPTION.
The reasons are clear. Original safety razors were designed to shave smaller areas of a man’s face more safely than a bare barber’s blade. Modern plastic razors, however, are easier to use and better suited for today’s all-over shaving needs.

By our estimates, those who've switched to Leaf have prevented over 20 million plastic razors and cartridges from polluting landfills and oceans since 2019.
With nearly 10 million of that number achieved in just the past year, accelerated adoption and cumulative efforts promise continued growth in our collective impact.
We’ve partnered with changeclimate.org since 2020 to assist us in measuring, offsetting, and setting carbon reduction goals for our entire operations (tracking from raw-materials through delivery to our customers).
We’ve offset more than 900 tonnes of C02e (Carbon dioxide equivalent or CO2e means the number of metric tons of CO2 emissions with the same global warming potential as one metric ton of another greenhouse gas).
All Leaf Shave product packaging, and shipping packaging is plastic-free. With the availability of paper and kraft-based packaging materials we do feel that this is table stakes. But this is still not yet the standard so we’ll keep talking about it.
We also offer low C02 impact shipping (non expedited USPS service). See, when a truck is coming around to your house anyways as part of other business (opposed to dispatching a truck to your house specifically) there is a lower net emissions associated with your shipment arriving safely in your hands.
Even if Leaf users disposed of their used blade refills in the trash they would take up a fraction of the volume of equivalent plastic trash.
But you certainly do not have to toss used Leaf blades into curbside trash. Instead, they can be recycled as scrap metal—either through finding a local scrap metal drop off, or sending full recycling tins back to Leaf to recycle for you.
